Is it just me, or is this graphic in poor taste? Seems more tabloid than local TV news Web site. I enjoy a bit of gore, and I have a dark sense of humor, but with news graphics I tend to think about it from the point of view of friends or family of the victims. (Oh, also from the point of view of someone who doesn’t want to see lazily thrown together graphics on news Web sites.)
Clicking through to the article adds the details that the magazine seller may have been trying to steal from the homeowner who stabbed her (the homeowner was also injured), that everyone survived, and that the alleged culprits were captured. Perhaps the news channel feels like this is akin to showing a stock graphic of a wrecked car when reporting a crash.
Would I still find it tasteless if it weren’t poorly thrown together on a computer? If someone actually dropped a handful of magazines and dripped fake blood on them? Probably, but I also probably wouldn’t have noticed it in the first place.

Beautiful day in Colorado, but the mountains are fading into a hazy sky and not much for the iPhone camera. this will have to do.

Climatological history is fun. So are character translation errors.
For the record, it wasn’t -390 F in Denver on 9 January 1875.
Y’know, in case anyone was looking here for the record … record.
Religion foes’ billboard sparks discussion, shrugs - The Denver Post
I like to live in a world where this can share the same billboard space as the quotes-from-god series of billboards. I don’t imagine you’d ever see it in Jacksonville, but in Denver it’s more likely to get people talking than fighting. And, to me, the more talking the better.
