“The graffiti artist who took Facebook stock instead of cash for painting the walls of the social network’s first headquarters made a smart bet. The shares owned by the artist, David Choe, are expected to be worth upward of $200 million when Facebook stock trades publicly later this year.”
“But if your child couldn’t handle Gammell’s paintings, they’re certainly not going to be able to stomach a short story about a scarecrow who skins a farmer alive and dries out his skin sack trophy on the roof.”
Booooooom.com and Adobe’s Remake project, in which people are invited to do photographic remakes of classic art. Very cool. More info here.
My friend Lauren is selling prints of her art to raise money for her cat’s medical bills. Please take a look at her stuff and help her out if you can. What follows is the message she posted on Facebook:
hi everyone —
some of you have already seen or responded to the note on my personal facebook page. i thought i’d post here too just to help get the word out. basically, my cat needs a $1500 vet procedure, and i’m hoping to make some print sales to help ease some of the cost.
i have custom-order 11” x 17” color laser prints for sale. i’m selling them signed and unmounted for $20 each. all profits go toward nori’s treatment. if there’s a print you have in mind, email me at stitchbunny@gmail.com so i can get printed for you. i’ll pass along my paypal info and get your address for shipping. shipping should run around $5-$10, depending on where you live.
i know money is tight for everyone, so encouragement and well wishes are just as important. i will pass along all thoughts of love and scritch-scratches to the little puddin’.
