Something that just occurred to me.

Clever!
But, why do I never go out for a drink?

Learning some tricky drum parts. Downloaded the Amazing Slow Downer iPhone app. Most useful music app I’ve bought by far. Earns its name (and its purchase price, which is a little steep for an app at $14.99). Highly recommended.
Proof of concept.
Hear that background noise? Yeah.
That’s because I just did 8 tracks of instruments and vocals on my fucking phone.
On the fucking street.
Just…wow.
Garageband on the iPhone. It isn’t the first music studio software on the iPhone, but neither was Garageband the first music studio software on the Mac. This could be kind of a big deal.

Filmed on an iPhone 4S. It may never be a professional’s camera of choice, but just imagine what all the hobbyists will be able to achieve.
Playing with Shake It Photo iPhone app. Photo from Denver Botanic Gardens. Really wish there were an option to turn off the shake-to-develop feature (never my favorite part of using a Polaroid). I’d also like to be able to turn off the frame from within the app, but turning on the Keep Original feature saves a frameless version in the photo library, while keeping the filter on the image.
Of course, there probably are other apps that offer a similar filter along with other effects, but paying $0.99 for this is a little like buying a cheap Lomo—not a lot of cash for some nice photographic chaos.
I like Innerpartysystem, and this is a cool version of this song, but I really want to know what they’re doing with their iPhones. It looks like the programmer/percussion guy has a mixer on his.

I had a brief conversation with Mike Cohn last week at the Better Software Conference about the new iPhone, in which I mentioned that the thing that might end up pushing me into making a purchase would be the release of Spore. In addition to the full game, which will be available on Mac/PC as usual, they’ll be releasing a version for the iPhone.
It’s been a while since I’ve been this excited about a new game concept (the Final Fantasy/Disney mix of Kingdom Hearts may have been the last one, and that’s more story/character than gameplay). It looks both fun and social, which is, of course, the future.
There are lots of good reasons to buy an iPhone. Mine just happens to be a video game. Sue me.
Cool note: Mike did some testing work on Spore. I think I may have geeked out a bit when he told me that. Sorry, Mike.
